Scheduler (Add Scheduler)
Overview
The Add Scheduler section allows administrators to automate various actions within the application. A scheduler can be configured to execute a specific action at a predefined date and time without requiring manual intervention.
Schedulers are commonly used to automatically Enable or Disable application content, categories, products, packages, and other supported modules.
Add Schedule
To create a new scheduler:
Scheduler Configuration
The Add Scheduler page contains the following options:
| Field | Description |
|---|---|
| Type | Select the type of scheduler to be created. |
| Category | Select the category or item on which the scheduler will perform the action. |
| Start Date & Time | Specifies when the scheduler should begin executing. |
| End Date & Time | Specifies when the scheduled action should end. |
Scheduler Actions
The scheduler supports the following actions:
Enable
Automatically enables the selected content, making it available according to the configured schedule.
Disable
Automatically disables the selected content after the scheduled time.
Reverse Action
The Reverse Action option automatically performs the opposite action once the scheduled duration is completed.
For example:
- If the scheduler Enables a category, the Reverse Action will automatically Disable it after the configured end time.
- Similarly, if the scheduler Disables a category, the Reverse Action can automatically Enable it again.
Schedule Type
Administrators can choose how the scheduler should execute.
Single Schedule
Executes the configured action only once at the specified date and time.
Double Schedule
Allows administrators to configure both a Start and End schedule, enabling automatic execution of an action followed by its reverse action if configured.
Manage Schedulers
Administrators can:
- Create new schedulers.
- Schedule automatic Enable or Disable actions.
- Configure Reverse Actions.
- Set Start and End execution times.
- Automate repetitive tasks without manual intervention.
Best Practices
- Verify the selected category before creating a scheduler.
- Double-check the Start and End date/time.
- Use Reverse Action when content needs to be automatically restored.
- Use Single Schedule for one-time tasks.
- Use Double Schedule for temporary activations or deactivations.
Important:
After configuring the scheduler, click the Submit button to save it. Once the scheduled time is reached, the configured action will be executed automatically. If Reverse Action is enabled, the system will automatically perform the opposite action at the scheduled end time.
