Kiosk Default Config

Overview

The Kiosk Default Config section allows administrators to configure the default behavior and appearance of the kiosk. Separate configurations are available for Horizontal and Vertical kiosk layouts, allowing each orientation to have its own settings.

Navigate to VirtuKiosk → Kiosk Default Config to manage these settings.

Kiosk Layouts

The page contains two separate configuration sections:

  • Horizontal
  • Vertical

Each layout can be configured independently according to the kiosk's display orientation.

Configuration Options

The following settings are available for both Horizontal and Vertical kiosks.

Screensaver

Configure the kiosk screensaver using the following options:

  • Screensaver Time (Minutes) – Set the inactivity time before the screensaver starts.
  • Slide Interval (Seconds) – Configure how frequently screensaver images change.
  • Screensaver Image Scale – Select the image scaling mode (e.g., Fit).
  • Kiosk Screensaver – Select the screensaver to display.

Map Configuration

Configure map-related settings:

  • Map View Rotation (°) – Set the default map rotation angle.
  • Map Track Rotation (°) – Configure the rotation of navigation paths.

Content Configuration

Select the default content displayed on the kiosk.

Available options include:

  • Kiosk Root Category
  • Screensaver Product
  • Screensaver Video
  • Screensaver Content
  • Home Content (Mode)
  • Home Product
  • Home Category

If no specific content is selected, the kiosk automatically displays the available content.

Administrators can configure up to six default products for the kiosk home screen.

Available options:

  • Product 1
  • Product 2
  • Product 3
  • Product 4
  • Product 5
  • Product 6

Printer Configuration

The Printer option allows administrators to enable or disable printer support for the kiosk.

By default:

  • Printer: Off

Smart Scale

The Smart Scale option enables or disables automatic content scaling for the kiosk display.

Kiosk Attributes

The Kiosk Attributes section allows administrators to configure additional kiosk-specific settings based on the selected layout.

Manage Kiosk Default Configuration

Administrators can:

  • Configure Horizontal kiosk settings.
  • Configure Vertical kiosk settings.
  • Set default screensaver behavior.
  • Configure home screen content.
  • Select default categories and products.
  • Configure printer settings.
  • Enable or disable Smart Scale.
  • Customize kiosk attributes.

Best Practices

  • Configure the correct settings for the kiosk orientation being used.
  • Select appropriate home content for a better user experience.
  • Verify screensaver timing before deployment.
  • Test printer functionality after enabling it.
  • Review all configuration changes before saving.

Important:
The Horizontal and Vertical sections are configured independently. Any changes made in one layout do not automatically apply to the other. After updating the required settings, click Submit to save the configuration.
